Zombies are attacking right now, except I totally forgot because I was forced to distract myself by posting about The Light of Day, since the only thing worse (better?) than zombies attacking and taking over the world is bad prose.

Oh, the wonders of the Dewey Decimal System... the beauteous simplicity of alphabetical order. You have nurtured me, cocooned me within your safe and warm grasp, nursed me through the worst times and the best. You have pricked my ego, you have buoyed my soul, you have made me cry out in despair and dance for joy and almost everything I know about anything has come from you. Oh, the joy of books! The simple pleasure of curling up on a rainy day with one. I curtsy until my Achilles tendons snap, I bow until the blood rushes to my head and my brain haemorrhages. I grovel at the very feet of wisdom and I rejoice that I am not judged, not rejected, but calmly and quietly accepted.
